Son’s death: I surrender to God, says Falae

As condolences continued to pour in over the death of Ondo State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Deji Falae, his father, Chief Olu
Falae, has declared that he has surrendered to the will of the Almighty God.

Falae said this on Tuesday while receiving leaders of Afenifere in his residence in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

Deji was among those who died in last Thursday’s crash of a plane bearing the corpse of former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Agagu.

He said the family took solace in the fact that Deji lived a purposeful life and distinguished himself in all his endeavours.

He said, “The Holy Spirit has ministered to us and we have been comforted by different testimonies that followed the incident.”

He said that the late Deji had taken his appointment as a commissioner as a service to humanity, noting that what he (Deji) was earning in his former place of work was more than what he earned as a commissioner.

“We are happy that all the family values we instilled in him, he exhibited. The money he was making, during his practice is more than
what was paid to him as a commissioner.

“He was humble, honest, transparent and exhibited integrity. He did not build a house of his own but he helped most of his supporters to build their own houses,” he said

While commiserating with the bereaved, the leader of the group, Chief Lanihun Ajayi, urged Falae to take solace in the fact that “God giveth and taketh.”

Olanihun, who said the group had come to condole with the family and the people of the state, described the news of Deji’s death as
shocking.”

He however urged the family to take solace in God over the untimely death of their son, noting that no one could query God as “He knows the best.”

Also, the Ijaw Arogbo community in the Ese-Odo Local Government Area of the state and some traditional rulers from Okitipupa Local
Government Area also paid a condolence visit to Falae.
